Saturday 30th June 2007
Peter Clarke in Holme village telephoned to ask if I wanted to
photograph a Great Oak Beauty. According to our MapMate
database these are reported very rarely in Norfolk so I was excited to
take up his offer and although it was slightly smaller than I expected
it had all the diagnostic marks. This would be a new moth to the Parish
of Holme.

No new macros for the garden year list
Bee Moth was
a new micro to the garden this year
Friday 22nd June 2007
Getting to grips with the micro species is a full time job especially
at this time of year. Nevertheless we are having a modicum of success.
Today a visit to Norfolk Ornithologist Association (NOA) at Holme provided
an interesting couple of hours with warden and assistant warden, Jed Andrews
and Sophie Barker, attempting to put a name to several micro species photographed
by Jed. As a result we have added two new micros to the Holme list, Nemophora
degeerella and Pammeno
regiana. Thanks Jed for permission to use the photos.
